Stamping with foil, also called foil printing or hot foil stamping is a process of printing that uses heat and pressure to apply metallic or pigment foil onto a substrate. It can be used to embellish a variety of products such as business cards, invitations, packaging, and more. It is a great way to add a luxurious touch to any project.
Various Types of foiling
Most people take foilings to be mistaken for only one generic color which is silver, but these packaging add-ons come in various types, such as:
- Gold foiling/Silver Foiling
- Holographic Foiling
- Customized Foiling
Gold Foiling/Silver Foiling
Hot foil stamping is an effective way to make the gold foil on your products pop. The process of creating a metal dye calls for a special kind of dye known as a specialized dye. Die-cuts in gold foil are custom-made to match your exact design. Stamping machines then heat die-cuts to stamp them on different surfaces.
An eye-catching, futuristic look is possible with holographic foil. You can see a rainbow effect as you look at these holographic foils in 3D. There are several collectibles and promotional materials that use this kind of foil, such as trading cards, baseball cards, and custom packaging.
Foiling based on customer needs
It is possible to produce foil stamping in a variety of colors in response to the client’s demand. It’s hard to pick just one foil that looks the best. They all look fantastic, from silver foil to gold foil, blue, copper, red, rose gold, green, to even silver foil that looks holographic. It is also an option to go with colored foil if you desire both foil shine and color vibrance. It is up to you to decide what color you would like for your product.
